System Upgrade

For existing home with less than 3kW solar system capacity, you can up-size your system to maximize your roof space and solar generation. The existing solar STC rebate is still available based on the additional new panels. A better deal is to replace the entire old system with a brand new larger system of up to 6600W (for a typical residential) as it makes more economical sense especially when the existing Inverter is already failing and your solar export tariff is no longer lucrative at more than 40 cents per kWh / unit. Shaded or Limited Roof Space

On a typical string inverter system, panels on the roof are connected in series. A partial shading would reduce the solar generation of the entire string of panel array as illustrated in the following diagram. We offer the most economical solution by installing the Tigo TS4-O Optimizer onto the shaded panel to normalize the output of the other panels. This is a retrofit job by attaching the Tigo optimizer onto the panel rear side frame with its cables connecting to the existing panel leads.

If you have a limited residential roof space, chances are you would need to make use of the three North, East and West roofs to make up a 6.6kW capacity. Most string inverter in the market comes with only 2x MPPT inputs allowing only 2 roof facing install for the panels. A typical costly option is to go with the Micro inverter or the Optimizer system solution as recommended by most solar retailer. We offer a more economical solution by designing the system using a 3x MPPT inverter such as the Goodwe GW5000-MS model as illustrated below.

Storage System

At a relatively lowest solar export tariff in WA, storing the excess energy onto the battery for use after sun down makes good sense and increase our independence from the grid. The cost of an adequate Lithium battery bank can be prohibitive without the government subsidy though there are many battery options to choose from.
